first show in Zlin

Eine kurze Anmerkung vorweg: Der allmächtige Multimediagott zürnt uns gewaltig. Wir haben immer noch vor, einen Videoblog zu machen, nur leider bekommen wir den Ton von der Kamera nicht auf den Rechner. Wir haben aber derbstes Material und das wird auch auf jeden Fall noch hier nachgereicht.

Soooo, nun sollte es also auf unsere zweite Europatour gehen. Schon seit Ende der Tour mit Norther und Amoral im Oktober letzten Jahres wollten wir unbedingt wieder los. Wir hatten dermaßen viel Spaß und dazu noch gewaltig viel gelernt über das Leben auf einer Tour, wie alles organisatorisch läuft, wie man menschlich miteinander in 3 Wochen mit 18 Leuten in einem Bus zurecht kommt und noch tausend andere Dinge. Wir waren also schon voller Vorfreude und diesmal auch besser vorbereitet. Pünktlich um 0:30 in der Nacht zum Freitag wurden wir vom Tourbus abgeholt und es ging gleich in den südöstlichsten Zipfel Tschechiens nach Zlin. Dort fand das Metalmania Festival mit Megadeth und Rage statt. Dem Headliner angemessen war die Location eine größere Halle für 3.500 Nasen, die dann später auch alle da waren. Zu unserem Gig waren es wohl vielleicht 700, die auch ganz gut mitgegangen sind. Für Martin war es der erste Gig mit Glatze. Kommt recht ungewohnt, aber funktioniert.

Nach der Show ging Backstage auch ganz gut die Luzi ab. Wir haben noch mit den Jungs von Evile gequatscht, die gerade mit Megadeth auf Tour sind. Fünf bis sieben Bierchen sind mit den sehr netten Muckern von Rage geflossen, und sogar Dave Mustaine persönlich hat später bei allen Muckern zusammen mit seiner Assistentin die Runde gemacht und ein paar freundliche Worte verteilt. Das hat doch sehr positiv überrascht. Direkt vor der Megadeth Show wollte Martin im Backstage dringend auf Klo, das sich aber leider am Ende eines Ganges befand. Auf diesem Gang waren u.a. auch die Türen zu Megadeth´s Backstageräumen, weshalb der Gang für Dave Mustain´s Weg zur Bühne abgesperrt war. Martin hätte nie gedacht, dass sich in seinem Gehirn jemals der Gedanke formen würde, Dave Mustain zu fragen, ob er denn mal bitte pissen gehen dürfte… ))) Großer Spaß…

Mortal Sin, mit denen wir uns einen Tourbus teilen, sind allesamt sehr angenehme Zeitgenossen. Wir hatten schon eine Menge Spaß zusammen und freuen uns auf die nächsten Tage.

A short remark at first: The almighty god of multimedia is using his forces against us. We are still willing to give you the promised videoblog, but unfortunately the audiofile of the camera won´t work on our laptops. We´ve got such killer material on tape that has to be shown here asap.

Well, now it was time to start our second tour through Europe. Since the end of our tour with Norther and Amoral last year in October we were looking forward to get on the road again. We had such a shitload of fun and also learned much about touring, the organization of it and also how to get along with 18 people for 3 weeks on a bus. So we had a thrill of anticipation and were also better prepared this time. Punctual on Friday 0:30 a.m. we got on the tour bus and immediately headed to Zlin, a city in the southeast of the Czech Republic. This is where the Metalmania festival was located, headlined by Megadeth and Rage. Fitting for these two big bands, it was a big venue allowing for 3.500 people, and it appeared to be sold out later in the evening. At our stagetime there were about 700 metalheads and they were responding quite well! It was the first show for Martin without long hair. That was strange, but it worked J

After the show we had a blast backstage. We had a nice chat with the guys from Evile who are touring with Megadeth at the moment. Five to seven beers were destroyed with the guys from Rage and even Dave Mustain himself went for a stroll among the musicians. His assistant accompanied him as he greeted everyone, which was really nice actually! Just before the Megadeth show started, Martin had to go to the loo badly, but the way was blocked by Dave Mustain´s bodyguard. His backstage room was on the corrodor that lead to the loo. Martin never would have dreamed the thought would one day come into his mind to ask Dave Mustain if he could please go to the loo. Pretty fucking funny ;P

We share the bus with Mortal Sin from Australia and all of them are really likable. We had some serious fun already and are looking forward to the next days.
